Cat lovers can rejoice because the NoCo Cat Cafe is finally here – or, should we say, feline-ally here.
After a string of successful pop-ups last year, cafe founders Kimberly Tejchma-Sanford and Christopher Sandford announced plans for a brick-and-mortar location in December 2021.
Now that dream is a reality and the NoCo Cat Cafe is open at 121 E 5th Street in Loveland. Here’s what you need to know:
What is NoCo Cat Cafe?
The NoCo Cat Cafe is like a regular cafe, except there are cats everywhere. Kittens aren’t just for show, either — you might be able to bring them home.
“The kittens and cats live in the cafe 24 hours a day. While customers are enjoying their coffee, they can play with the cats or adopt one,” the NoCo Cat Cafe told Townsquare NoCo. “They provide an interactive experience for potential adopters and animal lovers.”
The cafe cats are owned by the Colorado Kitty Coalition, a Fort Collins-based nonprofit cat shelter. The kittens are healthy, settled and ready to find their fur-ever home — you can apply to adopt one here.
How to visit the NoCo Cat Cafe?
The NoCo Cat Cafe is open 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
Walk-in visits are permitted, but keep in mind there is a $12 admission fee to cover running costs and cat sitting. A $48 monthly loyalty program is also in the works.
What can you expect at NoCo Cat Cafe?
In addition to cats to play with, the NoCo Cat Cafe offers coffee from Dark Heart Coffee Bar, treats from Feel Love and teas from The Spice and Tea Exchange.
The Colorado Kitty Coalition socializes cats before they arrive at the cafe, so they’re ready to meet guests. Don’t forget to watch out for pets (especially if you’re bringing kids) – and please leave your own furry friends at home.
Cat-themed affairs are also on the horizon.
“We will also have fun events, like yoga with cats and paint with cats,” said the NoCo Cat Cafe.
