Long Island’s fine dining restaurants convert to take-out amid coronavirus shutdown

As restaurants adjust to closing their dining rooms to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, a number of restaurants that don’t normally offer take-out or delivery do.

While places such as pizzerias that deliver, drive-thru fast food restaurants and various other take-out restaurants have systems in place to handle the temporary dinner ban, establishments on Long Island where patrons don’t normally expect. not for their food to be taken out or delivered to scale up to continue serving their guests.

“We have made major changes in the way we do our business,” said Sheila Haile, director of marketing for Islip-based restaurant group Bohlsen. “The managers are on the bridge to handle the call orders and we have moved the staff to handle the delivery. We have extended the hours of operation for all restaurants from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to allow for greater take-out and delivery availability and created new take-out menus for all restaurants.
