A new meatless fast food restaurant has opened in Cambridge and the food looks out of this world

What better time to revolutionize Cambridge’s food scene with new plant-based fast food options than Veganuary? We already have the fantastic doppelganger burger, and more and more options are popping up all the time.

Meatless Kitchen is the new kid on the block, just moved (Monday January 6) to Ta Bouche Cocktail Bar, Cambridge, and the food looks deliciously good.

Whether it’s a penang thai curry or a “chyken” burger, a macaroni and cheese or a succulent bao bun, they are there for you.

And not only is it affordable, it’s also environmentally friendly, defining itself as “the meatless movement that makes a difference”.

Their website reads: “Chef Jay Scrimshaw has seen a demand for meatless foods with a difference. Drawing on his 30 years of experience, he wanted to create vegetable-based dishes to compete with meat dishes with world-inspired flavors. Meatless started out as a four-wheel kitchen. and in January 2020 will launch his residency at Ta Bouche Cocktail Bar, Cambridge. ”

Charlie Anderson, owner of Your Mouth, said: “I have known Jay and Justin for about 30 years and I am very happy to be associated with them in this endeavor. The meatless concept will fit perfectly into the relaxed and dynamic atmosphere of Ta Bouche and provide the ideal complement to our offering of vegan cocktails (including vegan non-alcoholic cocktails), vegan beers and vegan wines.

“We know there is a large and growing demand for this style of food, especially with the growing number of flexitarians. We made the decision last year to make our drink offering as vegan as possible and this has already started to expand our customer base. ”

It appears to be proving popular already, with a Facebook post indicating that 130 meals were served in a single night, with commentators saying they “absolutely loved the food.”

A 2018 review reads: “The meatless not only took street food to a new level, but they also embraced vegan food! Wasn’t sure what to expect from chykin and ‘no’gets’, but they were delicious. like pork! All the food was plentiful, perfectly executed and beautifully presented. Not just a place for vegans, but for anyone who enjoys good food. “

So if you are cutting back on your meat intake or just want to try something new, this could be the perfect option. You can find them at 10-15 Market Passage and food is served between 11:30 am and 8 pm, Monday through Friday.

It is not yet known how long the residency will last, but the company has been contacted for comment.
